The quarterly ECBs can be used for purchases online. The other ECBs from special sales cannot be. I learned this the hard way when I went out of town for a few weeks. First off, I thought they had a CVS where I was going, but they didn't. :( Then I tried to spend my ECBs online so I wouldn't just loose them, but it didn't work.
