Giant Food Bargains: 1/16-1/22

by Dana on January 16, 2009

Wow, Giant has been pulling out all the bells and whistles lately! First, free antibiotics. Then announcing a new policy of doubling coupons up to 99 cents. And now, this week, my local ad has five coupons on the front that each can be used to triple a manufacturer’s coupon up to 99 cents. I think Giant’s plan has worked on me, as I believe they’ve made me into a regular Giant shopper now.

(My local ad also has a coupon for a free $20 gift card with the purchase of any new or transferred prescription.)

Here are the best deals I see this week.

I believe I read in an earlier post that you’re in NoVa. I’m hoping that I’m remembering right so my Giant will be having the same deal! Does your ad say in which stores the offer is valid?

Thanks – AshburnMom

AshburnMom- No, I’m actually in central VA, near Charlottesville. I hope your Giant is offering the same triple coupon deal. I haven’t actually been to Giant, so I don’t have the actual ad in front of me. And the fine print of the ad is so small on the Giant website, that I can’t read whether its just limited to my local Giants or not. Please let me know if you find out whether yours has this same offer. Thank you!

I live in NoVa and I can’t find the triple coupons anywhere on my ad…I’m going to look at the website just to double check; I really wish it were triple for us too!!

Ok, I just checked most of the online Giant ads that are in my area and the closest one I could find that had the triples was in Gainesville, which is only about 9 miles from where I live(20-30 minutes driving time with typical NoVa traffic!). I’m planning on just going there since for me it will be worth it and gas is cheaper in that area too, so I can fill up while I’m there! =) Thanks for all the great info on your site!

I’m in Fredericksburg, VA. No triple coupons or pharmacy coupon here. Rite Aid has a promo for 2 $25 gc’s going on until the end of next month. Sometimes Shoppers grocery store here triples up to .99 so I’m not too upset over missing this. (Plus, Aldi has some great deals this week!)

Central MD here. Triples were only in the ad that came in your Sunday paper, not available at the store.
