A week after his due date, Jack finally decided to make his entrance into the world. I was scheduled for an induction Wednesday morning, but started early labor naturally just hours before the time we were to arrive at the hospital. We held off on going to the hospital until the scheduled induction time, but by the time we got into the labor and delivery room, all it took was a little nudge of an induction to really get things rolling. Labor moved along at a very steady pace for the next handful of hours, much to my surprise! After marathon-like induction with my first baby, I was anticipating much the same with Jack, so it was a (very pleasant) shock to have him arrive so soon.
Jack is healthy and doing well, and we are just as excited as can be to have him with us finally. His big sister is still pretty unsure of the new situation, but we’re sure she will adjust soon. (At least we’re hopeful she will adjust soon…)
I will be taking the next couple of days off from blogging as I recover and adjust to life with two kids. I do have some wonderful guest posts lined up, however, that I think you will enjoy. And I plan to be back to my normal blogging routine very shortly.

Congratulations! I don't know if this will make you feel better but the transition from 2 to 3 was easier for us than 1 to 2. It took at least 2 weeks for our firstborn to adjust but know they are best buddies and inseperable. I think it was hard for him b/c he hadn't been around babies and the crying kind of freaked him out until we explained that that is the way baby communicates. Enjoy your little blessings!

I was so worried the first week after our second daughter came home, since my two year old seemed really freaked out. But within a couple of weeks our only concern was a little too much loving of the baby!
