Safeway is getting the word out about their new everyday low prices in the DC and Baltimore areas, and to help you save even more, they’re giving away five $50 Safeway gift cards to Frugal in Virginia readers. While the comment contest for four of the cards has already ended (winners to be announced soon!), the photo contest winner has yet to be determined.
The second part of the giveaway, as I shared recently, is a photo contest. At the start of the contest, I asked readers to submit a photo showing how excited they are about the bargains available at Safeway. I said the top two photos would be picked and posted to this site. Then you, the readers, would pick your favorite- the picture that best shows excitement for Safeway’s bargains.
I’m excited to now share the top two photos of the contest. Beneath the pictures you’ll find the spot to vote for the picture you think best shows an excitement for Safeway’s deals. Voting will close on Thursday, October 1st at 11:59 pm EDT. The photographer of the picture with the most votes will win a $50 Safeway gift card.

I’m sure all of those $50 gift cards (so exciting that there will be 5 winners!) will be put to good use, especially since we all have the opportunity to read up on the best Safeway Deals and coupon match-ups each week on your blog. $50 can really go a long way when combining sales, coupons and special store promotions.

Oh, and on a side note… I took the photo outside of my local Safeway late one morning when my 3-year old son was visiting his grandparents. I got quite a few strange looks for pulling out my camera and running around the parking lot trying to find the best place to pose! I probably ended up asking 3 or 4 strangers to snap photos of me all around the outside of the store. It was a lot of fun since I haven’t really done anything like that since college when we had a photo-scavenger hunt. Good times!
