Not only did he love it, but so did my 4 year old and my 7 year old. It certainly grows well with the kids. I just purchased another one for my nephew today (btw- my wal-mart had these rolled back to 17.00...so with coupon I only paid 12...wohoo!). It's a very durable toy and it entertains all of my children for long periods of time. The Aqua doodle was a bust in our house. It started out as a great toy, but then the kids figured out how to take the lids off of the 'markers' and then they were back and forth filling them up and simply dumping the water our onto the mat....and then of course it doesn't work anymore until it dries out. While I appreciated that it didn't leave a mess (water is no big deal) It didn't occupy my children in the way that I was hoping for. So it is a long lasting toy. Unfortunately, the batteries are not long lasting, at least in my experience. So, keep that expense in mind if you decide to purchase the ball popper!
