As I am writing, many of you are traveling or cooking in preparation for tomorrow’s festivities. I know my house is a flurry of activity as well, as I cook and my daughter crafts paper turkeys.
But perhaps this holiday seems to be a bit overcast by the year that we have behind us. This year has been tough for many families. Between layoffs, foreclosures, investment loss, and more, times may seem bleak. But even in the midst of financial struggles (or perhaps other personal struggles), we still have so much to be thankful for, don’t we? Family and friends, freedom and safety, grace and mercy, health, community, food, shelter- the list goes on. I pray that tomorrow my family- and yours- is able to take time to reflect on our blessings.
May this Thanksgiving be a wonderful time for you and your family as you gather, give thanks, and celebrate. Happy Thanksgiving.
