As a way to say thank you and honor U.S. military veterans, many restaurant chains and stores are giving special deals to veterans and active duty military this week for Veterans Day. Here are some of the best I’ve found so far:
These offers are available at participating locations only. I suggest calling your location to confirm participation.
Outback Steakhouse is giving veterans and active duty military a free Bloomin’ Onion and beverage on November 11th. Just show proof of military service. (Thanks, Joscelyn!)
Applebee’s restaurants are offering a free meal to veterans and active duty military on November 11th. Must pick from select menu items here. Proof of military service must be provided.
Golden Corral is offering a free thank you dinner to anyone who has ever served in the US military on Monday, November 16th from 5 to 9 pm.
Uno Chicago Grill locations are offering entrees and pizzas at a special buy one, get one price on November 11th for all veterans and active duty military. Just bring a military ID, show up in uniform, or bring a picture of you in uniform.
Now through November 11th, Home Depot is offering a 10% off military discount on single receipt purchases, up to $200 off.
Lowe’s stores are also offering a 10% discount to active duty, National Guard and reserve members, veterans, and their families now through November 15th. Not available on Lowes.com purchases. (Source)
Sam’s Club locations are giving away Hugo Folding Walking Canes to veterans on November 11th or while supplies last. Proof of military service may be required. While 25,000 canes will be given nationwide, each Sam’s Club will have about 40 canes available. (Thanks, Bargain Briana!)
Krispy Kreme locations are giving a free doughnut, any variety, to veterans and active duty military on November 11th.
From 7 to 11 am on November 11th, Hy-Vee grocery stores are offering a free breakfast buffet to veterans. Some locations also have special programs and entertainment planned.
If you live in or are visiting Virginia, some historic tourist attractions are offering free admission to former and active-duty service members on November 11th. These attractions include Montpelier (James Madison’s home), Mount Vernon (Washington’s home), and Colonial Williamsburg. Details here. (Thanks, Moms Who Save!)
