World Vision Gift Catalog

by Mrs. Moneysaver on November 12, 2009

I just wanted to take a break from the deals for a bit to tell you about an organization called World Vision, for those who aren’t familiar.  If you’re looking to give to a global need this holiday season, I suggest you look into their Christmas gift catalog

You can access the online catalog here.

Have you given through the World Vision catalog?  Did it have an impact on you or your family?  Did you find the catalog helpful?

We have given through the World Vision gift catalog in the past but for the past few years we have given through Gospel for Asia (http://www.gfa.org/gift/). I appreciate their mission of training/equipping native missionaries and I also have a heart for that part of the world.

This year when we received the GFA catalog I was able to talk with my three year old about people in other countries and why we were wanted to give to help those people. She even got to choose some of what we are giving (we didn’t go with her first choice, which was the Land Rover….although we definitely would have if it had been in the budget!) Anyway, it offered a nice teachable moment and gave my husband and I some perspective when we were thinking about the rest of our Christmas budget.

Dana –

Thank you for posting this! My name is Brian and I work at World Vision on the Gift Catalog. We’ve created a special site for the catalog on facebook this year, http://www.facebook.com/TrueSpiritOfChristmas. Would you mind if we linked to your blog from this page? Best, Brian
