Blogging in 2009 has been exciting and challenging, to say the least! The year saw growth in readers and community (thank you!), along with all the fun we’ve had stretching our money. This site also got a face-lift when I moved to the WordPress blogging platform in June (thanks to my fantastic husband, who did the work for me just less than a week after baby #2 was born). And the biggest change of all around here was probably the name change from Frugal in Virginia to Mrs. Moneysaver just a few short weeks ago.
But I have big plans for 2010 too! In addition to the year-long Savings Challenge that I’ve already introduced, I have some other series planned for the year, including Junk It (Room By Room), and Bill Busters. Look for those to kick off in the next few weeks.
What else do I hope to accomplish in 2010?
1. Share at least one “frugal living” post a week in addition to all the grocery store deals, coupons, and freebies. Time management on my end will be crucial for this!
2. Continue to get to know you, my readers, through comments, emails, Facebook, and Twitter. I also plan to get to know your needs from the this site better through the use of occasional surveys.
3. Offer at least three fun giveaways a month, giving you the change to win some great prizes.
4. Triple the number of subscribers to Mrs. Moneysaver.
5. Achieve a good family/blog work balance. As Mrs. Moneysaver has grown, so has my work load. I need to make sure I’m not taking away from my family in order see this site’s success.
6. Learn one new technical tool a week and implement it into the operations of this site. My husband has managed the technical side for me in the past, but I’m assuming more responsibility in that area this year.
7. Serve on the organizational board for an upcoming blogging conference. (More about that very soon!)
So there you have it, my 2010 blogging goals! I’m excited to see what the next twelve months have in store for this site.
