This is the fourth installment in a series of gift guides, where I’m sharing some creative gift ideas for a wide range recipients. Nearly all the ideas are under $50, and I’m hoping this will give you a hand in shopping for those people on your guest list that are just so hard to shop for!
1. Money Savvy Pig This gift puts a needed spin on a traditional product! The Money Savvy Pig, like other piggy banks, allows children a secure place to stash their allowance. But this pig also encourages money management by dividing the pig into four compartments- Save, Spend, Donate, and Invest. Along with the pig, you’ll also receive a guidebook to help parents talk to the child about money management. This is right up my alley as a gift idea! The Money Savvy Pig comes in several different color options, and sells for $16.99. For an additional $2.575, you can get a 24-page activity book for the child.
2. Cleatskins This item is a unique idea for kids who are involved in sports that require cleats. Cleatskins are rubber shoe soles that slip tightly over the bottom of cleats, allowing to kids to wear their cleats when they step off the field and go into their next activity. The use of Cleatskins can extend the life of the kid’s cleats, as well as provide added traction on concrete and asphalt surfaces. And because the Cleatskins fit so tightly over the cleats, they also keep dirt and grass on the bottom of the cleat and out of the car and house. Pretty neat idea if you ask me! Cleatskins come in a full range of youth and adult sizes, as well as several different color options. The youth size Cleatskins are priced at $24.95.
3. Scribble Press This is a fun, creative gift that lets children to publish their own book. The child receiving the kit will get a kit that includes pages for writing and illustrating. After they complete the pages, they can mail the kit (postage paid!) back to Scribble Press in the provided envelope where the company will print and bind the work into a paperback book. The child will soon receive the finished book in the mail! I received something very similar to this as a child and loved it. I still have the book I created. Scribble Press kits are available here for $25.
4. MOBI Headphonies This 3-inch device is available in 6 different designs, and acts as an amplified speaker to pretty much anything with a standard audio output like MP3 players, computers, and phones. And because it’s so small, a teen can easily carry this around in a purse or pocket. When we received this product in the mail, my husband quickly hooked it up to his iPhone. We were shocked at how loud- and clear- the music played! You can purchase the MOBI Headphonies here for $24.95.
5. Bloomin’ Books This company offers personalized books for babies and children ages newborn to 9+. Each book includes the child receiving the book as the main character, along with other personalized details such as hometown and friends. (The newborn books include birth information like weight and length!) There are about 30 different book titles available, including special occassion, holiday, and birthday books. Bloomin’ Books made a lovely Christmas book for my daughter. She was thrilled when we began reading the book and it was about her! The books are available for $19.95 each.
6. Tessy & Tab This is a “magazine” subscription for kids ages 2-4. The magazines are advertising free and are like little books. Each one helps preschoolers develop early reading skills. A subscription is $48 and includes 24 issues shipped to the child’s house. My daughter just loves the magazines we received. In addition to the magazines, the child’s parents will get a guide to building reading skills with each issue, along with craft ideas and activity sheets for the child. The Tessy & Tab magazines are a gift idea that will last an entire year for the child!
I hope these gift ideas help as you shop!
