“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful” -William Morris
I have a confession- My house is in need of a major “Junk It”. Somewhere between the holidays and the gifts, massive amounts of free samples and magazines constantly coming in the mail, my stockpiling, two kids, and the increased blog work load I’ve experienced, my house has become… cluttered.
And it’s driving me bananas.
This blog is about frugality of resources. While I am often talking about frugality of money, time is also a precious resource that needs to be spent wisely.
And all this junk is taking up my time. It requires time to put it away, clean it, fix it, step over it when it’s left out…
The junk has to go. I’m sure I’m not the only one tired of all the stuff we accumulate.
And so I’m about to begin Junk It 2010. One room a week for the next 12 weeks.
My motto for the whole project? “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful” -William Morris
Anything that we don’t know to be useful (for the past six months) or find beautiful will go.
I’ll use Craigslist, Freeycle, eBay, the trash can- any route possible to get the unnecessary stuff out of my house.
Does your house need a de-cluttering? Then join me in Junk It 2010. We’ll simplify our homes and save ourselves some time to boot.
Ready for the assignment?
Project: kitchen
Due date: Thursday, January 14th
Check back on the due date to see how I did, link up to your Junk It posts, and get the next assignment!

I chatted with hubby (always important when clearing out junk) and we are IN! We don’t have a blog so can’t make a link but definately want to be kept up to date on the assignments.
Good Luck to all! We are going to need it too.
Great idea! I needed the push, so I think I’ll join in! I do wish I had a place to store the stuff until I have a garage in the warmer weather though!
