Safeway and Fiber One teamed up this month to let me try some Fiber One yogurt. I have to tell you, products advertised for their fiber content kind of make me nervous. I don’t know why. Perhaps I think it will taste like cardboard?
So with trepidation, I picked up Fiber One yogurt from the store last week. The store also carried vanilla, strawberry, and peach, but I went with key lime pie flavor. Key lime sounded un-cardboard like to me, but I was still a skeptic.
Much to my surprise though, the yogurt tastes just as key lime pie yogurt should! It’s really good. (In fact, I just finished another cup as I’m writing this.) There’s nothing about the flavor or texture, in my opinion, that let’s on to the fact that it has 5 grams of fiber per yogurt cup along with just 50 calories and 0 grams of fat.
Fiber One is sold, among other grocers, at Safeway family stores (including Dominick´s, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Vons, Genuardi´s). In fact, Safeway wants to give one Mrs. Moneysaver reader a $50 Safeway gift card so you can stock up on Fiber One yogurt and the other bargains Safeway offers. Along with the free yogurt coupon, I was also sent a $50 gift card, and I’m looking forward to doing a bit of Safeway bargain shopping myself next week!
