Happy Birthday, Swagbucks! Updates and a Little Something For You

by Mrs. Moneysaver on February 25, 2010

Happy 2nd birthday, Swagbucks.com!  If you’ve been around Mrs. Moneysaver for even a week, then you’ve heard me talk about Swagbucks. If you aren’t familiar, the gist of Swagbucks is that it’s a search engine that rewards you for searching  The results are from Google and Ask.com, and when you search (or take advantage of other ways to earn), you’re rewarded Swag Bucks.  Then you can redeem your Swag Bucks for prizes like gift cards, music, and more.

In celebration of their birthday today, Swagbucks is giving away loads of free Swag Bucks on their blog, Twitter, and Facebook.   Plus, they’re introducing the revamped Swagbucks 3.0.  If you’re already a Swagbucks user, you’ll notice some changes today:

1.  You’ll have more opportunities to earn. Download and log into the Swagbucks toolbar, and you’ll be able to earn just by having the toolbar visible in your browser.

2.  Swagbucks.com has a new look! Swagbucks got a facelift, hopefully making the user-experience a bit easier, plus you’ll find a newly designed Swag Store.

3.  A Swagstakes Portal While Swagbucks currently offers some “swagstakes” (or sweepstakes where you can trade your Swag Bucks for entries), the new Swagstakes Portal will offer dozen of BIG sweepstakes at a time, including prizes like TVs, cameras, and an iPad.

4.  New Swag Bucks system If you log into your account, you should see a lot more Swag Bucks than you had yesterday.  The reason for this is that, starting today, all Swag Bucks are multiplied by ten.  So if you had 50 Swag Bucks yesterday, you should find 500 today. And instead of awarding 1 or 2 Swag Bucks at a time, you’ll now earn 10 or 20.  The “prices” for prizes are all multiplied by ten as well, though the prizes have gone up in price in proportion to the Swag Bucks increase.  This change will allow Swagbucks to add some new ways to earn!  You can find out more about this change here.

Plus, this is just the start of some more exciting Swagbucks changes for 2010!

Now, if you’ve never signed up for Swagbucks before, this 2nd Birthday celebration is a great day to take the plunge.  I have an exclusive Mrs. Moneysaver code to give to those of you who decide to sign up.  Now through March 4th at 6 am, sign up for Swagbucks and use the code MRSMONEYSAVER (case sensitive) during registration to get 60 (formerly 6) FREE Swag Bucks automatically.  Just to put things into prespective for you, you can get a $5 Amazon gift card for 450 Swag Bucks, so 60 certainly isn’t a shabby start.
