12 Days of Valentine’s Day: Oral B Stages

Make sure you don't miss a deal by subscribing to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Welcome to Day 10 of the 12 Days of Valentine’s Day, where I’m sharing some fun and affordable Valentine’s Day gifts, plus giving you a chance to win these products yourself! Be sure to check back each day for a new gift idea and giveaway.

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, many of you may be buying chocolates and other candy for Valentine exchanges, gifts, and treats around the house.  If that’s you, you’re definitely not alone.  In fact, Americans will buy about 48 million pounds of chocolate candy during this week alone as they prepare for Valentine’s Day.  Try as I might to keep my daughter away from candy, I’m sure she’ll get some for Valentine’s Day from a doting family members.
With all the extra sugar she’ll be consuming, it’s especially important that my daughter practice good oral hygeine this week.  If that sounds simple enough to you, then you don’t know my two-year old.  Sadie is a miniature tornado.  She’s a sweet and lovely little girl, but she.does.not.stop.  Trying to get her to stop for anything is like trying to trying to tame the wild ponies on Chincoteague Island.  Getting her to slow down for teeth-brushing, like every other task, is tough.  To reign her in enough to brush her teeth for as long as she should, we need to make it fun.

So the package I received last week of Oral B Stages brushes and pastes arrived just in time for Valentine’s Day.  These products, divided into 4 stages for children from birth through 8+ years, offer fun designs while being developmentally appropriate for the child’s age.  The Stage 2 (2-4 years old) brush that Sadie is using now is Tigger & Pooh, which is great since she loves those characters.  And apparently it’s not just my kid who likes the Oral B toothbrushes.  According to a 2001 study, “69% of parents reported that, compared to other brushes used, their child was motivated to brush longer with the Stages brush”.

So if you plan to give your kids some candy this Valentine’s Day, you may want to consider giving Oral B Stages toothbrush and toothpaste too.  Why not slip in a little (fun) oral hygeine with all the sweets?  You can pick up the Oral B Stages line at most major drugstores and mass merchandisers.

Now Oral B Stages wants to give a Mrs. Moneysaver reader (or hopefully, your children!) a chance to try their toothpastes and brushes.  One reader will receive a bundle of brushes and toothpaste from each of the four Stages!  You have three ways you can enter, and you can pick as many entries (up to three) as you would like.  Make sure you leave a separate comment for each entry. If you are reading this post from an email, you must click over to the Mrs. Moneysaver site to leave your comments.

1. Visit the Oral B Stages site, and let me know something that’s special about your child’s stage (or the child that will be using the prize, if you win!).

2. Subscribe to this blog, and leave me a comment letting me know you’ve done so. Click here to subscribe by email or feed reader or see the right sidebar to sign up. You must remain a subscriber for the duration of this giveaway. If you’re already a subscriber, leave a comment letting me know.

3.  Become a fan of Mrs. Moneysaver on Facebook and leave a comment on the Facebook page with a site suggestion or just to say hello!  Then come back here and let me know you did this.

Remember, please leave a separate comment for each entry, and enter only in the ways listed above. I reserve the right to delete comments not adhering to the above entry guidelines.

You can enter anytime now through Sunday, February 14th at 8PM EDT. One winner will be selected at random. I will contact the winner by email shortly after the giveaway ends, and the winner will have 48 hours to respond. If the winner does not respond within that time frame, a new winner will be selected.

Thanks for entering!

The product reviewed above and the giveaway prize were provided by Oral B.  The opinions shared within the review are mine and were not provided by the company.

I learned that my almost 3 year old needs helping brushing. And that the right size toothbrush makes all the difference.

My daugther is 3 and in the 2 Stage and would love the little einstein character products. We are really trying to get her to brush her teeth by herself but we usually end up having to go back behind her to make sure they are clean. These products would be great for her and hopefully would motivate her to like brushing her teeth :)

We’ve been using the right brushes (I have a 1, 2, and 3 year old), but I haven’t seen the Little Einsteins brushes! My kids love that show!

Stage 1 up to 24 months has a soft rubber head that won’t hurt baby’s sensitive gums. I would get this one I think.

We just had a trip to the dentist for our older children, and they were all given new oral B toothbrushes. I suppose I should be using the oral B that is for babies. I do brush his teeth, but I like the idea of the soft head that won’t hurt their gums.

I just entered to win the OralB stages contest. My child has been using OralB products since he got his first tooth. He loves the characters and designs on the brushes and toothpaste. He feels independent when he can choose the right size brush and toothpaste for himself based on his age. He is now 8 and still loves to pick out his own brush and paste! Thanks for the incredible deals.

My son is 18 months and in Stage 1. I am also expecting another son in May who will be in Stage 1 before I know it! What I think is a great feature about the Stage 1 brush is the soft, rubber brush head that’s gentle on sensitive gums when new teeth are popping through, but still does a great job with getting teeth clean!

Thanks for this chance to win a great prize.

My daughter (3 yr old) loves to brush her teeth with a “big girl” toothpaste and toothbrush. Watching her brush her teeth is a sight to see. Has everything laid out and in its place. She surely did not get this from me! :-)

Noah LOVES to brush his teeth, a habit we encourages as soon as he grew his first tooth. He is fiercely independent now and wants to do it himself. He’s 20 months.

I didn’t know there were battery powered toothbrushes for 4 yr. old, but Oral B has them for Stage 2 in Disney’s “My Friends Tigger & Pooh” characters. The raised center row bristles clean chewing surfaces and the interdental tips reach deep between teeth. I have to look for them. :-)
