12 Days of Valentine’s Day: Softlips

I’m not a very brand-loyal person.  I dig whatever cereal, toothpaste, and detergent is on sale.  But I do have a few products that I just love, enough to even pay full price if I need to.  Softlips lip balm (among a couple other makeup items) is one of those products.  Being a Softlips users since high school, they’ve had my heart lips for many years.

So you can imagine my excitement when I was contacted about sharing Softlips with you for Valentine’s Day.  (Can you imagine my further excitement when the delivery guy arrived with enough Softlips to last me until I comfortably settle into a retirement home?)  As a girl who sunburns easily and is becoming more concerned about aging skin by the minute, I love that Softlips provides SPF20 protection while keeping my lips soft.  Plus, I don’t find it sticky (or stinky) like many other lip balms I’ve tried. While I might use something more shiny for special occasions, I like the subtle shine Softlips provides for day-to-day wear.

While I had tried many of the other Softlips balms, I hadn’t tried the PURE line until SoftLips provided me with some.  The PURE line, which came out in 2008, is USDA-certified organic lip balm and doesn’t contain animal by-products.  As much as I enjoy the original Softlips, I’m pretty sure the PURE line has it beat now!

Softlips is sold at most mass retailers, grocery stores, and drug stores for just under $3 for one stick, or a 2-stick value pack for $3.99.  See, even if I do pay full price, it’s still pretty reasonable, in my opinion!

So if you’re looking for a fun Valentine’s Day gift for a mom, sister, daughter, or wife- or something for a Valentine’s Date with your husband- Softlips may just be a neat idea!
