Dads Rock Giveaway Bash: Powermat Wireless Charging #DadsRock

by Mrs. Moneysaver on June 10, 2010

Sometimes first impressions are wrong.

I received the Powermat Wireless Charging system last week. The Powermat lets you charge all your devices, including several cell and smart phones, iPods, and Nintendo products, without power cords on a single charging mat. The only power cord you’ll need to use is the one going from the mat to the outlet. There are different receivers and tips that you place on this mat, then you just plug or place your devices on the receivers and everything charges in one place.

Admittedly, when my husband first took the Powermat out of the box, he didn’t see the value. But within 2 days, he was pretty sold on the idea. So sold, he just couldn’t part with the Powermat during our vacation this week. So it came with us.

The Powermat is pretty handy in that it lets you put away all the power cords. And if you have several devices like we do- cell phone, iPhone, iPod, Blue Tooth, etc.- the Powermat really cleans up your space. Our dresser and our bedroom- where we charge everything each night- look much nicer now that we don’t have power cords all over the place. And since the receivers are all stuck by magnets to the mat, you’ll save time when you no longer have to go digging around for all your different power cords.

Powermat has this video that explains the wireless charging system a bit more-

The only thing we found that wasn’t entirely user-friendly is this- If you’re charging an iPhone or iTouch on the mat, your phone may not fit into the receiver well with your case, depending the case you have. My husband’s case worked like a charm with the Powermat, but mine won’t fit unless I take the case off. But that’s a minor hurdle, and we’ve still found the Powermat to be a nice convenience and organizing solution.

Powermat now wants to give one of you the chance to try their products free!

The prize: One winner will receive a Powermat Home & Office set, iPhone Bundle, and iPod Touch receiver.

What I found out:

A unique sound tells you that a solid connection has been made and your device is charging. A second, similar sound is heard when the device is removed. The level of these sounds can be changed or they can be turned off.

Just this morning when I finished detangling my hair, I then had to detangle our multiple cell phone cords!!!! What a hassle! I have no idea why I haven’t seen one of these before! It’s brilliant! I love the fact that it takes away all the cords and keeps everything neat and organized without all the tangled cords (how do they get so tangled anyway?) I also love the fact that it’s energy saving, by shutting off automatically! This give away sounds like a detangling dream come true!
