Kroger 6/6-6/12: Gillette, Old Spice

by Mrs. Moneysaver on June 7, 2010

krogerlogo I am basing these deals on the mid-Atlantic sales ad. My Kroger doubles coupons up to and including 50 cents and the final prices below reflect that policy, but check your local ad to verify your store’s coupon policy. Before you shop, be sure to load additional coupons onto your Kroger card here, here, and here. The coupons loaded to your Kroger Plus card do not double and should not be combined with paper coupons.

There’s a print option at the bottom of the post to help you get organized for your shopping trip.

Hey Dana -

I worked the Old Spice/Gillette Body Wash deal yesterday at Kroger & even though they are BOGO & the coupons are BOGO – they don’t come out free – you end up paying 25%. The store reduces each product 50% so that in the end you only pay the price of one for both (so say at $3.99 – they’ll go down to $1.99ea. Then with the coupon it’ll take off one of those $1.99 leaving you paying $1.99 for two.

The reason given to me at the customer service desk was that they can’t make an item ring up $0.00 b/c their inventory won’t track it. Thats the way they run their BOGO deals for everything. Which I didn’t know & hadn’t realized.

They also vary in price from $3.50 to $4.99. I picked up 12 b/c I had 6 BOGO coupons. I ended up paying $8.99 for $46.80 in product – (that # doesn’t come out right to 25% but the cashier was having trouble keeping up with the different prices and I was trying to figure out what she was doing to not make them free! lol! Anyways – it is still a great savings but probably wouldn’t of put forth the effort for them if I had known they wouldn’t of been completely free!

:-)

Just looking back at the coupons available – the $4/2 Gillette Coupon may actually make them free as opposed to the BOGO – which makes no sense but whatever works, right?! lol!

i tried this yesterday in lynchburg va, and the same thing happened. they ring up 50% off instead of bogo. so if you can find a friendly cashier who you can explain this to, then you’ve got yourself a deal. but i didn’t, so i just returned them instead. maybe i’ll try again? if you write in the price of the item in the box on the coupon, maybe they will do it for you? sometimes that works.
