Just last week I was contacted by T.J.Maxx and Marshalls with an offer to give their stores a try for Father’s Day gift bargains. This was perfect timing because (sorry, Dad) I was running a tad bit late on my Father’s Day shopping anyway, so this would be a great chance to really give the stores a good test.
So yesterday, the kids and I loaded up in the Mom Mobile and paid T.J.Maxx a visit, with a gift card from the company in-hand. I needed to shop for my dad, and really, I already knew what I wanted to buy- a home gym pull-up bar. I had seen it in another store already for $30, so that was the price to beat- if they had one in stock.
I was so excited when, within 5 minutes in the store, I found the pull-up bar I wanted for my dad. And the price? $12.99! While it’s not the same brand as the one I had seen elsewhere for $30, I can’t tell any difference in quality and I saved $12. My T.J.Maxx also had lots of other home workout gifts at majorly discounted prices, so if you’re still shopping for a fitness-crazy dad for Father’s Day, you may want to check out their selection.
Since the pull-up was so inexpensive, I decided to get my dad a second gift. He’s a sports fan, so I checked out that section and found all sorts of official team hats, shirts, and shorts. I got my dad a nice Tech hat for just $5.99. (Shhh… don’t tell anyone. We live in Cavalier country, and a Tech hat is near traitorous.) The suggested retail price is $12, so that was big savings once again. I found that nearly all of their sports items were priced at least 40% off the suggested retail prices for other stores.
After all my good work of finding bargains for Father’s Day, I still had money left on the gift card, so I decided to do a little more shopping for some needed kitchen items and a new purse for me, since my old was just ruined by a pen explosion. I was so excited by the deals I found!
At the end of my shopping trip, here’s what I bought:
(doorway gym, hat, 5 dish towels, a corkscrew,
slicer, and a super cute purse)
The total original retail price of these items was $88.
Guess how much I paid? Just about $50! That’s over 40% savings!

Marshalls and TJ Maxx are the best places to get pans! When you have a set at home, but you need to throw one out, you can get a quality replacement at half the cost.

I bought some work clothes from there. I used to work in the field so my clothes got dirty so I didn’t want to spend a lot but still look professional.
The last deal I found at TJ Maxx was my son’s swimshorts. Originally $23.00…we got them for $9.00.

I found a Le Creuset kitchen ladle/spoon for only $2. Regularly at least $10!
I shop there mid season for clothing. I have found a T-fal frying pan for a huge discount (over 60%)/ I buy my underwear there and for my son. They sell pack and single print boxers. I am able to get high quality brands at a huge discount cheaper than outlets, Calvin Klein, etc. Without being graphic I have found the most comfortable underwear (for me to actually fit in it) there which looks very sexy fro as little as $4 which would be worth $30. I have a baby blue hoddie with complex tattoo stitching on each sleeve and chest that is amazing and I paid somewhere about $45 and it would go for over $100 plus (I have had it for about 4 and a half years and teh quality is amazing) I still get nice compliments). My negative comment would be , be cautions of the gift section some of which are discontinued sharper image items, I bought a useless razor, but I must say I had no isse in returning it, so their policy for returns is quite decent.

Once, I really want the prefect brownie pan. (Yes, the one that you pour in the brownie mix and it cuts brownies in perfect portions). I refused to pay the full price on TV and defiantly was not going to pay for the shipping. So I waited and one day at TJ Max, I found the pan for $8.99. It worked out perfectly because I had to make cupcakes for my niece’s bday the next week. Instead, we made little cakes for the kids to frost.
My TJMaxx find was a couple of My First Dolls that were adorable for my little girl’s Christmas gift last year.
Always find great deals at Marshalls. Got the kids a bunch of summer clothes for under $50 a few years ago.

I LOVE both TJ Maxx and Marshall’s. I find the best deals on shoes there. Most of the shoes in my closet I paid less than $40 for and I found them at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s. Some of them are leather too, and name brand! My favorite are my red patent Ann Taylor pumps :) that I got for less than 1/2 of the original price!

We went to Marshalls and within minutes I had found her a basic black pencil skirt on the clearance rack that was originally ~$75 on clearance for $19. Marshall’s has got some terrific bargains on throw pillows…I’m a sucker for these. Pillows are an easy, inexpensive way to freshen up decor.

I actually found the cutest dress for a wedding a had in the beginning of the month. It was only $19.99 so I got two in a silver and hot pink. I wore the silver one for the wedding and I will probably wear the hot pink one to a romantic dinner with the hubby!!!! I am sure I would have paid much more for it elsewhere but I found it without even trying just by walking down the aisle at Marshalls and I don’t usually shop at Marshalls but after this find I’ve been there much more.

I once fell in love with a dress at Macy’s that was $290.00. I did not even dare try it on, but it was the PERFECT dress! So about three months later, I was at Marshall’s and guess what I saw? The same exact dress — same lable, same everything — but in several colors. And the price? $45.00. I wear it often.

I found a fabulous queen sheet set on clearance for 9.99, a lush throw blanket for 6.99 and a baby blanket for 3.99 on the same trip once to TJ Maxx. What a great day!

I got a really nice, thick yoga mat at TJMaxx. That’s my most recent bargain, but I can always find something.
last summer I found this awesome Buddha head made of recycled gold glass at Marshalls and use it in my Asian inspired shade garden. It was only $7.99!! and its life-sized and I know worth more than that!

I just bought my husband a pocketknife he loves, at TJ Maxx for only $10.
I recently went to TJ Maxx and got a bunch of kitchen gadgets for a friend’s housewarming- Love the Joie! brand of kitchen stuff there-it’s so cute! They are only like $1.99 each and are great!

I also have shopped at TJ Maxx and usually load up on clothes. So many great bargains there. Once got a cute summer skirt for $2. LOVE great deals. I am expecting a baby now and will used the gift card to buy some baby clothes for my little one. Hope I win!

I always go for shampoos & such- much better prices than salons. I adore the specialty soaps! I don’t spoil myself much- but, I feel okay with these little details!
I have been to TJM one time and I was not able to find all these wonderful deals I hear everyone raving about.

my fav thing to get at these stores is the gourmet steak seasoning. Its silly, but it is the most delicious seasoning, and its only $4. We have also tried their stir fry, and its also yummy. Every time I go in these stores, I buy as many as they have, because they are so hard to find.
Everything is a great bargain at TJ Maxx!!! The best deal I’ve ever gotten was on a pair of Tommy Hilfiger shoes for my husband.
