Kroger Family Stores, General Mills, and other sponsors are teaming up this month for the Biggest Loser Pound For Pound Challenge. The sponsors are all set to donate up to $1,080,000 to Feeding America, who will then in turn deliver that contribution in food to local food banks across the country.
But these sponsors aren’t just going to fork over the money on their own; they want us to get involved- and get healthier in the process.
So here’s how you can help- For every pound you pledge to lose through the Pound For Pound Challenge through June 30th, the sponsors will donate 14 cents to Feeding America- enough to deliver one pound of groceries to a food bank in your area. I need to drop a few pounds, so I signed up for the Challenge today. It took just one minute, and in the process, 10 pounds of food will be donated to my local food bank through Feeding America. It’s a win-win.

Speaking of the Biggest Loser show on NBC, did you know that Kroger is the official supplier of the Ranch on the show? And the show often features General Mills products,such as Total cereal, as more healthy options for the contestant. Kroger Famiily Stores carry these General Mills products that could help you in your plan to lose or maintain weight, and Kroger wants to help one of you save a bit of money while stocking up on those food items. Time for a little giveaway!
The prize: 1 winner will receive a $30 Kroger gift card that can be used at Family Stores including Kroger, Fred Meyer, Ralph’s, King Soopers, City Market, Dillon’s, Smith’s, Fry’s, QFC, Baker’s, Owen’s, Jay C Food Stores, Hilander, Gerbes, Food4Less, Pay Less Super Markets and Scott’s Food & Pharmacy.

I use to be a big mountain dew drinker. I would drink a 2liter a day, not good I know. I stopped drinking all sodas in Nov. 08 and dropped 10 pounds in a matter of two months. The weight has stayed off and has motivated me to eat healthier.

I emphasize eating fresh fruits and vegetables. I divide my plate mentally in quarters. 1/2 of the plate is for fruits and vegetables, 1/4 for protein, and 1/4 for a starch.

I was am trying to watch how much I eat as well as what I eat and added in exercise. I just found out that I am expecting again so I am trying to only gain what I need and no more and then after the baby is here work out more.

I write everything down in a little notebook, add up the calories. when I get to 1200 calories I am cut off. I lost 17 lbs. doing this.
