Olive Garden: Never Ending Pasta Bowl

by Mrs. Moneysaver on August 17, 2010

I know, I know.  This isn’t exactly the most amazing deal ever shared on Mrs. Moneysaver.  In fact, knowing how little pasta cost to make, I have a hard time considering this a bargain.

But Olive Garden’s annual $8.95 Never Ending Pasta Bowl offer is back- and that’s reason for celebration in my house, even if the price is less than amazing.

So maybe your family is a bit like mine, and will appreciate this bit of Olive Garden news.

I’m just certain that after my husband reads this, he’ll come up with a semi-convincing reason why we should go to Olive Garden (*gasp* without a coupon) over the next several weeks, just because he loves the Never Ending Pasta Bowl that much. If it were up to Ryan, we would have pasta for dinner no less than 3 nights a week (don’t worry, we don’t),so the Never Ending Pasta Bowl is his idea of a perfect meal.

The pasta bowl includes bread sticks and soup or salad, and you can check out all the possible all-you-can-eat options here.  Yum!  Whole wheat linguine with five cheese marinara sounds delicious!

I love it that they serve whole wheat pasta now. Their soup, salad, and breadsticks lunch is still a great deal too. Very affordable.

The whole wheat linguini and five cheese marinara is definitely the best one :). Thanks for letting us know it’s back.

Yay, thanks for the notice! We have an Olive Garden gift card that we’ve had since Christmas… we’ll be going to Richmond this weekend for an unrelated event, and the never ending pasta bowl is an excellent reason to use the gift card while we’re there.

I also love Olive Garden. I don’t know if it is the food or just the atmosphere, but worth the 45 min. drive. Yummmyyy!!

We just went last night and the parmesan portobello sauce (or whatever the actual name is) is AMAZING!

This is a great deal, restaurant wise, especially since it includes endless breadsticks and salad or soup. Just remember to tip your server accordingly. Even if your check for two is under $20 because of this deal your server should still get a decent tip, especially if you order refills. They are doing more work for you even though the bill is small. I’m all about saving money but one place not to cut corners is tips for service.

I agree! Thanks for bringing this up. I waited tables for several years, and unfortunately, it was often the people who were getting the best deals on their meals that tipped the worst. (Of course, not all bargain-lovers were like this!) I especially feel like tipping well on an all-you-eat special is important, since it’s so much more work for a server to bring multiple bowls of pasta out than just bringing a single entree.

Olive Garden is priced fairly. Millions of Americans get fat there every year. Olive Garden is very unhealthy. A childs portion of fettucini alfredo has 800 calories.

Everything in moderation, eh?

I agree that Olive Garden is far from healthy, so we just go there once or twice a year, and keep our other dinners healthy- well, with a few exceptions, of course :)

I love these specials. When I take my daughters out, it can get kind of expensive. These specials really help us have a great meal at a low cost. We don’t eat pasta every day, so this is definately a treat. I like to order a nice tomato sauce with whole grain pasta, which makes it healthier. I like the whole grain taste better too.
