Serta Giveaway *4 Days Only*

by Jess on August 10, 2010

My husband and I have a Serta mattress that we just love- so comfy.  In fact, it’s only a double size mattress and we’d love to upgrade to a queen, but we like this particular mattress so much that we don’t want to give it up.

And since Serta keeps delivering extra comfy mattresses like ours to customers, the Counting Sheep have not been able to find work.  (You’ve seen the Counting Sheep commercials, right?) In order to get those sheep making money again, Serta is asking their customers to help come up with some job ideas.  They are so serious about this job search, they have gotten Donald Trump involved!  Serta and Donald Trump are now partnering for the Counting Sheep for Hire Contest and they want you to play a part.

So first let me tell you about the Counting Sheep for Hire Contest, then we’ll get to the Serta giveaway right here on Mrs. Moneysaver!

Counting Sheep for Hire Contest

In order to enter, you must visit Serta’s Facebook fan page, check out the contest tab and then write a letter of recommendation to Donald Trump with your idea on the perfect job for the sheep (100 words or less). So get your thinking caps on!

Serta has been picking 3 finalists every week for the past couple of weeks. This week- the 13th, in fact- is the last day for the entries in the final week of the Counting Sheep for Hire Contest. Once all the entries are submitted by no later than Friday, they’ll open up the final voting so we can choose the grand prize winner.

In summary:

•Final entries must be in by the end of 8/13
•Grand prize winner voting starts 8/16
•Grand prize winner announced 8/30

Also, if you follow @SertaSheep1 and @SertaMatresses on Twitter you have a chance to be randomly selected to win limited edition prizes from Serta!

How to win a Serta comforter on Mrs. Moneysaver:

Serta wants to give one Mrs. Moneysaver reader the chance to snuggle up in a Serta comforter!

The prize: 1 winner will receive their choice of a Queen or King Serta white comforter (down alternative).

You have three ways (below) you can enter, and you can pick as many entries (up to three) as you would like.  Make sure you leave a separate comment for each entry. If you are reading this post from an email, you must click over to the Mrs. Moneysaver site to leave your comments.

1.  First, you must enter the Counting Sheep for Hire contest through the Serta Facebook page. (It’s 100 words or less so it won’t take but a couple of minutes!) When you are done with your entry, leave me a comment, sharing the creative job that you entered.

2. Subscribe to this blog, and leave me a comment letting me know you’ve done so. Click here to subscribe by email or feed reader or see the top of the Mrs. Moneysaver website to sign up.  If you’re already a subscriber, leave a comment letting me know.

3. “Like” Mrs. Moneysaver on Facebook, then leave a comment letting me know you’ve “liked” it.

Remember, please leave a separate comment for each entry, and enter only in the ways listed above. I reserve the right to delete comments not adhering to the above entry guidelines.

You can enter anytime now through Friday, August 13th at 11:59 PM EDT. One winner will be selected at random. I will contact the winner by email shortly after the giveaway ends, and the winner will have 48 hours to respond. If the winner does not respond within that time frame, a new winner will be selected.

Thanks for entering!

Disclosure:  Serta is providing me with a comforter for my participation in spreading the word about their contest.  Serta is also providing the giveaway prize. See my disclosure policy for more details.

I entered the contest. Below is my entry.

Dear Mr. Trump,

I will be sad to see my sheep go. I don’t need them to help me sleep now that I have my great Serta matress, however their body warmth at the foot of the bed sure kept my feet nice and toasty! You will be getting a great group of workers. I would highly recommend them for your sales department. They are the cream of the crop salespeople and could pull the wool over anyone’s eyes. Don’t be like the Little Boy who cried wolf, give my great sheep a chance!

Sincerely,

Cold Footed Gal

Here’s my entry for the contest.
Dear Mr Trump,

I am writing to you on behalf of the Serta Sheep. I believe that they would make excellent knitters, given their ability to count, general dexterity (pretty good for a sheep) and their ready access to a plentiful supply of raw materials. Trump industries could benefit from a line of unique fashions, especially since knitwear is on all the runways this year.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

I NEED, NEED a mattress so badly! I wish I had learned of this contest sooner, because I didn’t find @MrsMoneySaver on Twitter until 3 a.m. Saturday, August 14th.

Also, I think I have a (*)GREAT IDEA as a new job for the Serta mattress “Counting Sheep.” And since we are in back-to-school mode, this idea would fit right in:

(*)They still work as “Counting Sheep,” but in a different setting…a classroom! They would be used to teach math, especially in the lower grades. Since each sheep has a number on his/her side, they would be used as “movable math problems” right in front of the classroom! And the math signs such as +, -, = would be displayed on some BRAND NEW SHEEP introduced specifically for the benefit of education. Or through the magic of TV and technology, the math signs would appear in the empty spaces between the sheep. (*Retaining idea exclusivity. Idea is not to be used, in whole or in part, without my express written permission. Pamela J. Bartley – 08/14/2010
