Tuesday’s Groupon Roundup

by Mrs. Moneysaver on August 17, 2010

There are some nice doesn’t-matter-where-you-live online Groupon deals available today.  To get the deals, visit Groupon, sign-in or sign-up, then select the city that’s listing the deal you want from the dropdown list of cities at the top of the Groupon site.  Since all of these are online deals, you don’t need to live in the listing city to take advantage of the offer.

If  these deals don’t interest, you can still sign up for email alerts for your nearest Groupon city to get local deals delivered to your inbox each day.

Oklahoma City– Get $100 credit to use toward Picaboo photo books for just $25.  Plus, this Groupon can be used toward shipping and tax!  The Groupon expires in one year. (If you’re wondering whether this Groupon is any good or not, check out Kelly’s comment here.)

Atlanta (Side Deal)- Get a 16″x20″ Canvas on Demand gallery-wrapped photo canvas for just $45-  65% off the regular price.  Photo canvases are usually pretty pricey, so this is a great deal!  And since the canvas is gallery-wrapped, you won’t need a frame.

Rochester- Get $25 worth of teas from Talbott Teas for $10. The Groupon can be used toward shipping.

Little Rock- If you’re a nut and dried fruit snacker, you may want to snag this deal for $25 worth of products from Nutty Guys for $10.

(That’s a discount of 70%!)  If you order multiple photo books with this Groupon, you must order the same size or multiple orders of the same book. This Groupon doesn’t expire until August 18th, so you could buy this and save until the time is right. Or you may want to purchase this deal to begin thinking ahead for Christmas gifts.

Queens or Brooklyn- If you just love New York and its culture and news, you may want to pick up a year-long (54 issues!) subscription to New York magazine for just $13. Delivered weekly, this Groupon will save you 48% off the usual price.

Deals Still Available From Yesterday:

Minneapolis/St. Paul (Side Deal)- Get a 16″x20″ Canvas on Demand gallery-wrapped photo canvas for just $45-  65% off the regular price.  Photo canvases are usually pretty pricey, so this is a great deal!  And since the canvas is gallery-wrapped, you won’t need a frame.

Orange County (Side Deal)- This is a neat idea if you have pictures you want to preserve digitally.  For $75, ScanMyPhotos.com will send you a pre-paid box that holds about 2,000.  You can fill the box with the pictures you want scanned, and follow the instructions to ensure they’re scanned in an order that works for you.  You’ll send the box back to ScanMyPhotos.com, and they’ll scan and convert all your pictures to digital .jpeg files, and send you a DVD of the photos to boot.  This service usually cost nearly $200, so today’s Groupon deal offers you a savings of 62%.

This may be an incredibly dumb question but I have to ask because I just don’t know. I purchased a groupon yesterday for the first time – the Katydidcollection.com one. It was $20 for $50 worth of product on the website. My credit card was “charged” by groupon yesterday for the $20 and when I went to make my purchase on Katydid today I only had a $30 credit; meaning I was paying $20 on the website for $50 worth of clothing. I checked my bank account and the $20 from Groupon is gone (it was pending yesterday). Is this how it usually works? I guess I assumed that I would pay $20 to groupon and that I would have a $50 “gift certificate” to Katydid – instead I got $30 off a $50 purchase and paid the $20 to Katydid. Will the $20 charge show back up on my account from groupon? It all works out in the end as long as groupon doesn’t process the $20 from yesterday. Does this question make sense? Sorry!

I have emailed Groupon before with this type of question. They have always replied right away. Try emailing them with your question, I am sure they will be happy to help you out. Usually if you go to ‘my account’, then to ‘my groupons’, your coupon is waiting there with a code to use. Try looking there too. Good luck!

Hi Jennifer,

Sorry I didn’t respond sooner- and I’m sorry to hear your Katydid Groupon is having some troubles.

Charlene said exactly what I was going to say. :) Thanks, Charlene! Customer service is the way to go. They’ve always been extremely helpful and prompt for me.

I hope you get the issue resolved quickly!
Dana
