How to Have a Frugal and Fun Easter

by Shannon on March 30, 2012

Oh how I love Easter!  The feeling of spring in the air make this holiday so special and I have such fond memories of gathering at my Grandma’s house with all of my cousins to have an Easter Egg hunt!  Here are a few things that can make your Easter frugal and fun:

Natural Dyeing Techniques: you don’t need dye or kits to color your Easter eggs. Try using fresh beets or cranberries for a pale red color or strong coffee for a beige or brown color.

Rubber Band Eggs: this method uses rubber bands to easily make a tie-dyed or striped Easter eggs.

Make Your Own Marshmallow Peeps: create your own Peeps with 7 simple ingredients.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Eggs: no need to buy expensive chocolate treats from the store. Try your hand at making your own sweet Easter eggs.

Fill Your Basket With Freebies: take advantage of these deals and freebies found by Confessions of a Thrifty Mama.

Baskets for Less Than a Quarter: check out garage sales and thrift stores for inexpensive items, like pails for sandboxes, that can double as Easter baskets.
